Fresh off their performances in Torino, Italy, the world's figure skating stars will come to Nationwide Arena. to bring their Olympic experiences direct to their fans as part of the 2006 John Hancock Champions on Ice tour.

The top skaters in the world, many of whom fulfilled their Olympic dreams by standing on the podium or participating in Torino, will be spotlighted in the tour, including five-time World Champion and two-time Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan; 2006 Olympic bronze and 2002 Olympic silver medalist Irina Slutskaya; 2006 Olympic silver medalist Sasha Cohen; 2006 Olympic gold medalist Evgeny Plushenko; three-time U.S. Champion and Olympian Johnny Weir; 2006 Olympic silver medalist and reigning World Champion Stephane Lambiel; as well as other Champions from Olympic and World competition including Olympic gold medalist Victor Petrenko, Rudy Galindo and Surya Bonaly.

2006 Olympic silver medalists Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, who have emerged as ice dancing's newest sensation and America's sweethearts, will also be on the tour, as will the 2002 Olympic ice dancing champions Marina Anissina and Gwendal Peizerat.

Also featured in the tour is the brilliant Russian pairs team of Tatiana Totmianina and Maxim Marinan who recently captured gold in the 2006 Olympics.

The MythBusters co-hosts - Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman - will appear live at the Palace Theater. Adam and Jamie will talk about some of the 12-plus myths they have put to the test on Discovery Channel's breakout hit show MythBusters. They will answer plenty of audience questions, share crazy behind-the-scenes stories and show their blooper reel.

Two of Columbus' best chefs will push culinary boundaries on April 28 in the local premiere of Chef Showdown 2006. Chef Brian Hinshaw of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants and Chef Phil Yandolino of Bravo Development, Inc. Restaurants will prepare dishes from scratch in a fully equipped kitchen provided by The Wasserstrom Company exclusively for the event at Lifestyle Communities Pavilion, 405 Neil Avenue in the Arena District. When the smoke clears a star panel of judges, led by honorary judge Chef Hartmut Handke, Certified Master Chef, will determine the gastronomic champ.

The culinary caper begins at 6:30 p.m. with an epicurean dinner hour for more than 500 catered by Bravo Development, Inc. Restaurants and Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. A live auction offers guests the opportunity to bid on the unique experience of being on stage as chef assistants in the evening's competition or on the sidelines as a judge. Other auction items include private dinner parties at Lindey's and M, a lifetime membership to Aubergine, cookware, travel and artwork.

Similar to an Iron Chef competition, Yandolino and Hinshaw will have 60 minutes to cook at their battle stations. At the last moment, the Secret Ingredient Sponsor will spice up the challenge and provide a secret ingredient to incorporate into the recipes.

Expert commentary will be provided by Chef Hubert Seifert of Spagio and Farmer Lee Jones of The Culinary Vegetable Institute in Huron, Ohio. In addition to Handke, the panel of judges who will determine the winning chef includes Jon Christensen, restaurant and wine reviewer, The Columbus Dispatch; Michael Taylor, an award-winning amateur chef and co-founder of City Barbeque; Jeni Britton of Jeni's Ice Cream and Nannette Maciejunes, executive director of the Columbus Museum of Art.
